Man, it's been a rough couple of years since the plant shut down. I was working at that old auto parts factory for over fifteen years, you know, the one out on the edge of town where we'd punch in at dawn and grind through shifts fixing up those conveyor belts and welding frames. Then bam, corporate decides to move everything overseas, and just like that, I'm out on my ass with a severance check that barely covered two months' rent. I tried everything to find another gig—scoured job boards, hit up old buddies, even drove out to those temp agencies that promise the world but deliver nothing.
